Smart Membrane Technology

Bluecom Systems’ smart materials technology is based on optically pixilated silicon or GaAs surfaces that can be used as reflective surfaces for reconfigurable reflect arrays or as reconfigurable active modular antennas and RF circuits. The optical reconfiguration on thin silicon/GaAs foldable materials allows such antennas to display various modes of operation and eliminates the need for multiple antennas on small satellites and other platforms.
